Young Racer Ready To Put The Aaron’s Dream Machine On The Fast Track To Success
June 7, 2007
MOORESVILLE, NC – Some drivers in racing would look at a bad race weekend as a black mark. Instead, Brett Butler is turning the negative into a positive after not qualifying the Aaron’s Dream Machine for the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series Southern Division race at Peachstate Speedway (GA).
After deciding to restructure the team for better performance, Butler headed to Peachstate with a skeleton crew. With the lack of assistance and a crew chief, Butler failed to qualify for the race.
“The weekend was kind of rough for us in the Aaron’s Dream Machine,” said Butler. “We were struggling all day. I figured we wouldn’t make it (into the race) because our times were so off.”
“We got rid of our team. The past couple weeks it has been me and another guy working on the cars. We didn’t have a crew chief or anyone else. We are moving in a new direction. Hopefully it will work out for us in a couple weeks. We are going to get everything figured out. It will just take a while.”
Butler loaded up and headed home, but his head wasn’t hanging low. Instead, he was focused on making the team stronger. The team will have a new crew chief in time to be competitive at Myrtle Beach Speedway.
“I wish we could have made the change a bit earlier to prepare for Peachstate,” said Butler. “But the crew chief we are getting had prior engagements. He is working with another team and had to give his notice.”
“We are going to work on the car and get it where it needs to be. Our next race will be Myrtle Beach. We are really looking forward to going there. We will have our new crew chief and the team will be in place. Hopefully we will be really strong there.”
Brett Butler will be back in action in the Aaron’s Dream Machine when the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Southern Division heads to Myrtle Beach Speedway (SC) on June 23rd.
